the tree

My name is Timber. The tree is a symbol often used in the Bible, and it ties in directly with my name. There is an old church hymn that is sung often, especialy here in the South, that talks about a tree that "is planted by the water" and "shall not be moved."

The water that is mentioned in the hymn is Jesus, and the tree that "shall not be moved symbolizes faith that shall not be moved. It is the goal here at Talitha Kumi Jewels to have faith for people that may not have it themselves, and by that I mean, 'standing in the gap' for the less fortunate. Those who have a mental illness and are experiencing homelessness, or a variety of other 'social symptoms' are who Talitha Kumi Jewels is out to help. Talitha Kumi Jewels, as an entity, wants to put a dent in the suicide rate, especially here in Mississippi, where mental health is not the governments' top priority and has not been for quite some time. But that takes some sort of financial basis, right? So, a small portion of proceeds from purchases, (10%) goes towards the benevolence fund of Oxford's Community Church. That fund helps with food depravity, homelessness, and assistance with the mental health of individuals. Talitha Kumi Jewels is also a proud supporter of Rapha's House, a shelter for women in transition, under University of Life Church, also based  in Oxford.
